Ricardo B. Salinas is the Founder and CEO of Grupo Salinas, a conglomerate of some of Mexico's most prominent companies in the banking, specialized retail, electronic media, telecommunications, content production, insurance, and retirement fund management sectors, among others. Grupo Salinas currently employs more than 110,000 people in the Americas.

As a public figure, Salinas has focused his efforts on the need to modernize Mexican business practices. He is noted for his focus on free trade, government deregulation, and foreign investment, as well as on improving the quality of management and information technology in Mexican companies.

Ricardo B. Salinas is an active promoter of a true cultural change to achieve an inclusive prosperity that generates well-being for all. To achieve this, he proposes the creation of environments of freedom and innovation, ideas that he promotes through the Ricardo B. Salinas Pliego Center and the Azteca Foundation. He also considers it essential to reach out to young people, and has lectured on leadership, immigration, inclusive prosperity, cultural change, and economic freedom at the University of Michigan, Georgetown University, UCLA and Harvard University.
