In January 2009, the Bitcoin genesis block was mined by Satoshi Nakamoto. In December 2010, SlushPool mined their first block.

In 2010, SlushPool was the very first in the world to successfully implement the concept of pooled mining. While many other pools emerged and have ceased to exist, SlushPool has been operating continuously and have mined over 1 million bitcoins to date. The former one-man project was transformed into a professional global operation in 2013.
