Through its R&D arm, Fidelity’s Center for Applied Technology (FCAT), Fidelity has been dedicated to researching and advancing the digital assets ecosystem since 2014. Within FCAT, the organization explores digital assets, blockchain protocols, and emerging blockchain-related topics with the aim of educating and inspiring associates, building products and services, and researching and advancing the ecosystem. In 2018, Fidelity Digital AssetsSM was launched out of the FCAT Blockchain Incubator to help facilitate institutional adoption of digital assets through a sophisticated custody offering. Fidelity Digital AssetsSM has continued to evolve with the addition of institutional-grade execution services and a roadmap of products and solutions to support the widespread adoption of digital assets.
